FIRST JOB LIFE CYCLE - Introduction

Introduction:-

Just out of college, completing graduation and after several rounds of celebration, the hardest truth of life is is about to hit us hard!! College life is over.. we are on our own.. there are expectations of parents, relatives to fulfill.. What do I do next? How will I fulfill those expectations? What if I am not able to? Can some additional resources help me in some way? etc.. and we run here and there to find answers to the questions.

In the process, we meet a lot of people, people who might give us the right advice and people whose advice may not me useful to us. We pick brains of our peers and see what their plans are? how they  are trying to find answers to the questions?

But the biggest trouble at that moment is, How should I secure my first job?? It is big because a lot of our ambitions and expectations are dependent on it.

There are a few bright ones who have a job right out of college, but there is a major chunk of students who are average or below average or even after being above average due to sheer hard luck have missed the bus of campus selection.

But there is nothing to worry even if you haven't got placed in the campus interviews. There are  a lot of ways by which you could find several other companies who are looking for you.

I have been in the industry for just 2 years now, but by what I have seen and understood, all the claims made by various resources about the deteriorating job scenario are false. There are at least one thousand relevant jobs for freshers in the jobs pool at any given point of time. They all may not be available on the various jobs websites and you may have to search a bit deeper to find them. The key is to understand which is the right job to which you should apply. There are a lot of factors which matter while you apply for a job.

In my further posts, I would be describing various techniques to find out the various opportunities in the Jobs market. The myths about hunting a job and also the ideal profile of a Fresher.

I would like to mention that these are my 'experiments' which I have tried with my life, and may earn different results on case to case basis. You can always connect with me on Facebook if you have any queries.

FJLC - FIRST JOB LIFE CYCLE

FOREWORD:-

I love trolls. Trolls of Derp and Derpina because they are not only funny but witty too. They are easy to connect as they are our everyday life experiences.

As usual, I was trolling through one of the websites and a funny troll appeared. After going through it I was in splits, but what was funnier was the name of the group where it was posted. A group by the name "Maine Engineering li, aur Engineering ne meri Li!!". That name really made me ROFL but then I tried to remember whether my engineering was that tough.

Yes, there had been tough times, sitting through the lectures, doing the submissions, preparing for the exams, scoring enough to secure a decent result, securing a good job etc... I realized that even if, I hadn't excelled at my course I had done enough to be happy with my present life. I was having a Average life.

But averaging is the one of the most trickiest things of life. It sums up all of your good's and bad's and gives you your life's good/bad index. If you are looking to lead a good life, you need bag more of good's than bad's and raise your average. The question is how?

I believe the best way to do it is by sharing knowledge. It not only gives you a chance to share your experiences, but also gain more knowledge from your peers.

Starting this week, I would be writing a series of blogs 'FJLC - FIRST JOB LIFE CYCLE' which should be helpful to all of those who are looking to secure their first job. I would be sharing my experiences of how I was able to secure my first job and what were the steps I followed to get it.

I would like to mention that these are my 'experiments' which I have tried with my life, and may earn different results on case to case basis. You can always connect with me on Facebook if you have any queries.
